Enchanted Forests

It's now nearly two weeks after our preview party for Enchanted Forests. It was a lovely evening of good food (exquisite canapes from Cafe Elvira), good wine and most importantly, great company: friends, customers and artists including Bleau-Shanay Hudson, Kate Tulett, Polly Finch, Cat Brown, Adele Scantlebury and Rachel de Freitas. We are now nearly halfway through Enchanted Forests...come in and have a look!

From Chaos comes Beauty...

All hands on deck here at the Green Tree Gallery as we set up Enchanted Forests yesterday. Working our way around wire jewellery artist Sue Warner and her very patient workshop participants, we cleared the walls and packed away....
Then with a blank canvas, we started hanging the new work, piece by piece... and gradually the jigsaw puzzle of artwork started to take shape.....
Then, eventually, from the Chaos came Beauty.....
Ready now for drinks and canapes this evening to celebrate the opening!

Bursting at the seams

We are going to be busy, busy, busy next week, setting up Enchanted Forests. Our stock room is already fit to bursting with works in many media, including sculpture, textiles, ceramics, papercuts and oils. Featured artists include Bleau-Shanay Hudson, Pippa Chorley, Annie Soudain, Steve Ferguson, Min Maude, Kate Tulett, Polly Finch, Sarah Rickard, Karen Davis, our own Victoria Lovell, Cat Brown and Jo Hodder as well as many more.... watch this space!

Embarrassed faces....

Red-faced confusion all round....we got rather carried away writing last week's post and got the name of Glory Art Glass supremo wrong. The Isle of Wight-based Glory Art Glass is run by Martin Evans, his wife and their two sons. By way of apology, here are a couple more pictures of their stunning work....
