Gone to the Dogs... last chance to enjoy!

Can't believe four months have whizzed by since our last post during our 'A Riot of Spring' exhibition here at the Green Tree Gallery. Now, with only one week remaining of our fabulous summer exhibition 'Gone to the Dogs', it's time to make amends for our blog-free zone of the past four months..hopefully a case of 'better late than never'?! There are no fewer than 10 dogs sharing the lives of us Gallery Gals...and 'Gone to the Dogs' is our salute to those canine friends. The exhibition features the work of more than a dozen artists, offering a wide range of styles and media across all price ranges. Wire sculptures by Emma Bird are simple but stunning, whilst our own Julie Janvrin's and Victoria Lovell's ceramic sculptures really capture the personality and character of their canine subjects. Also in ceramic are Tessa Mackie's jugs, mugs, pots and bowls, all with doggie decoration and Iveta Goddard's charming pots, clocks, tiles and other giftware. Christine Jenkinson offers hauntingly realistic oil and acrylic dog portraits and Heidi Langridge's oils capture the warmth and essence of the pack hounds. Anna Wilson-Patterson's paintings and monoprints feature lurchers, greyhounds and salukis and Kevin Maddison's etchings combine humour and narrative. And with titles such as 'Stressed businessman with amorous dogs', there is real humour as well as evocative scenes in David Fawcett's paintings. Lastly there are dog-themed textile treasures from Jill Housby, Debbie Medlicott and Sam Phillips and colourful handmade collars and leads from Scrufts. And perhaps the best reason for a last-minute look at 'Gone to the Dogs' is the chance to bid in the silent charity auction for either Victoria Lovell's 'Cairn' sculpture or Anna Wilson-Patterson's 'Finn' large red lurcher painting. Proceeds will be split between Dogs Trust and Southern Lurcher Rescue. 'Gone to the Dogs' ends Saturday 1st September.
