The World's Biggest Morning On the 27th September, The Green Tree Gallery will be taking part in the "World's Biggest Coffee Morning" to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. From 10.30 -1.00 we will be serving coffee and homemade cakes to help raise funds for this worthy cause. In addition to your coffee and cake donations, the Gallery will donate 10% of sales made during the coffee morning. Hope to see you on Friday!

Flight exhibition takes off

After what seems like weeks of arctic, unseasonably wintry weather, what better way to banish the blues than with a gallery party to celebrate the opening of "Flight", our first exhibition of the year! Customers, artists and friends joined us for wine and the most gorgeous canapes from Elvira's Cafe.... Flight includes paintings, prints and sculptures by Steven Ferguson, Paul Guthrie, Rebecca Jenkins, Min Maude and Everard Meynell and runs until 21st April. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays 10.30 - 5.00 and Sundays 12.00-4.00. We will be closed on Easter Sunday but open on Bank Holiday Monday 12.00-4.00

With Stir-Up Sunday this weekend, Christmas is fast approaching! And we are already in the festive mood here at the Green Tree Gallery....

Enchanted Forests

It's now nearly two weeks after our preview party for Enchanted Forests. It was a lovely evening of good food (exquisite canapes from Cafe Elvira), good wine and most importantly, great company: friends, customers and artists including Bleau-Shanay Hudson, Kate Tulett, Polly Finch, Cat Brown, Adele Scantlebury and Rachel de Freitas. We are now nearly halfway through Enchanted Forests...come in and have a look!

From Chaos comes Beauty...

All hands on deck here at the Green Tree Gallery as we set up Enchanted Forests yesterday. Working our way around wire jewellery artist Sue Warner and her very patient workshop participants, we cleared the walls and packed away....

Then with a blank canvas, we started hanging the new work, piece by piece... and gradually the jigsaw puzzle of artwork started to take shape.....

Then, eventually, from the Chaos came Beauty.....

Ready now for drinks and canapes this evening to celebrate the opening!

Bursting at the seams

We are going to be busy, busy, busy next week, setting up Enchanted Forests. Our stock room is already fit to bursting with works in many media, including sculpture, textiles, ceramics, papercuts and oils.
